How Sweet Life

In the forest of my life

the trees stand proud,

licking the skies early morn,

sun peaks out the clouds,

til radiant sunsets finish,

in full vibrant display.

Streams flow with honey,

carpeting the land in lush array.

Boughs sing the song,

of the whippoorwill, the jay.

Whispering thru brush

like an evening breeze.

Life abounds,

sweetness like no other.

Miracle senses,

taste life, devour it’s essence,

Fills nostrils with aromas.

Touching our world.

Tomorrow may bring my end,

for now I hunger for each day,

to last forever I pretend,

on this earth I want to stay,

til the day my remains

are spread upon a bounding wave.

From Wailea or McKenna shores

will be the choice of heirs.

To launch forever my ashes

traveling ocean’s crest

to a shore distant

will be my final rest.
